Phil’s homemade whiteoil recipe… you can use it to control scale insects, mites and aphids… baby stink bugs you find on citrus in winter… even that nasty leaf miner that distorts the foliage in summer
What you need:
- I cup cheap vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup cheap detergent
- Plastic bottle for mixing
Give the bottle a really good shake to combine the ingredients. It will turn a whitish colour… that’s your white oil concentrate. Write on the bottle the dilution rate… 1 tbsp per litre of water. It’s important you stick with rate. Too much oil will burn the foliage. Avoid using it on hot days over 30 degrees.
